Termux is surprisingly good

I've recently talked about youtube-dl and RIAA, and an offtopic that I was able to set up Termux shortcuts. Termux is a terminal emulator app for android, that has its own repository that has programs that works well on Android. It is available on F-Droid and Google Play Store along with its other plugins. Note that if you download Termux from F-Droid, you can only download plugins from F-Droid. This is the same with Google's Play Store. Using Termux alone is great, but adding plugins, like Termux:Boot, Termux:Widgets, and Termux:API expands a whole world of functionality for programs you are familiar with. Some examples that I have tried: Hosting a website using popular webhosting solutions. Apache, nginx, Lighttpd, PHP, MariaDB, etc. Hosting an .onion service (I've hosted a test blog and an imageboard there before I permanently deleted it) Occasionally grabbing items from my clipboard and writing it into my device's Internal Storage. (Termux:API and Termux:Widgets)...

youtube-dl got DMCA'd

It's a bit late to be writing about this, but youtube-dl, a popular program amongst commandline users, got taken down by RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) on grounds of copyright. youtube-dl's developers currently recommend downloading youtube-dl from their main site, https://youtube-dl.org/ . Personally I'm quite salty about it. I've only just set up my Android device to be able to archive videos from various websites into my phone with just a single tap. I'm afraid that all the effort I've put will be put to waste as RIAA landed quite a blow to youtube-dl's developers.

Upset

I made this blog because I got upset. I said inconclusive statements about a privacy-related thing and someone promptly shot it down. I'm back, from the dark web to the clearnet, to try and become better. Hopefully try to prove it better this time. Originally planned to be an anonymous content poster on the deepest net, but I've retraced my steps and went back to posting on Blogger. I hope you'll enjoy the content I write here.
